Our Teams
Operations Team
The operations team is the backbone of our organization. It consists of a small group of dedicated volunteers, who have accepted responsibility of transforming our ideas into actions. The operations team ensures that compost is collected regularly from all of the UWCC locations. They also record observations and data regarding the quantity and quality of material in the UWCC bins, transfer compost to the compost drums (affectionately referred to as the COWS), and monitor the progress of the compost process within the COWS. Since the operations team is the most dominant aspect to our activities on-campus, the growth of our organization heavily depends on a large group of passionate volunteers.
Research Team
The research team is an integral part of UWCC. The team conducts research to support social media posts and blogs, as well as in preparation for events. In addition, the team initiates new research projects relating to sustainability and composting, such as research spotlights. It works closely with every member of the team to support all ongoing activities.
Social Media Team
The social media team helps UWCC connect with all the amazing people on- and off-campus! On our Facebook and Instagram accounts, you can find sustainability tips, community shoutouts, and a bunch more! Follow us on social media to stay in the loop with our current projects and upcoming events.

The purpose of the social media team is to:
-
Generate public interest in waste reduction through composting and other sustainable practices
-
Promote initiatives toward sustainability
Marketing Team
The marketing team is one of the key components of UWCC. It collaborates closely with the operations team as well as the organization's senior executives to facilitate the growth of UWCC through the engagement of various stakeholders. From the use of our website and blog, the team works to increase the visibility of the organization on-campus as well as outside of UW.
The purpose of the marketing team is to:
-
Share sustainability-related news, opinions, and tips
-
Explore the implications of sustainability and use an intersectional lens to make sustainability more inclusive
